Vauxhall VX220 Low miles with history 2002 A rarer sight on our roads than its relative the Lotus Elise is what we have here today this excellent condition and very pretty 2002 Vauxhall VX220.

People often think the VX is no more than a rebadged Lotus but in fact only 10% of its components are shared with the Elise its extruded aluminium chassis tub. The 220s 30mm longer wheel base and 20mm wider track plus its 17 inch alloy wheels all round meant that in many motoring journalists opinions at the time it was a nicer car to drive in real life more poised and less pointy than the Elise. Throw in the fact that the VX has a more powerful 2.2 litre all ally engine compared to the Lotuss Rover K series unit plus came with antilock braking as standard and a drivers air bag just in case you can understand why!

This stunning example has a beautiful exterior with no signs of damage or wear. Its interior is pretty much the same with just the inescapable wear on the drivers seat caused by getting in and out of the car. Well more climbing in than getting as once in the seats grab hold of you as a nod to the handling prowess of this car.

The very low recorded miles on the car is evident with the engine being in excellent order and the gearbox still giving the precise selection of the gears as when new. Some of this might also be down to it having in its history the invoices reflecting the services carried out by Vauxhall since new. All but the last one done a week ago by an independent engineer.

The electrics general mechanics and everything else on the car are A1 and there are excellent Yokohama tyres on each corner.

Once every now and then a car is produced that becomes an instant classic not normally from companies like Vauxhall though. With the VX220 for the few years it was produced they really did knock it out of the park. Now good examples such as this are very sought after and hard to find and lets face it They are a damn good looking car.

Jaguar XJSC Cabriolet 1985 With this lovely Jaguar XJSC Cabriolet we now have the full set of XJSs and what a nice example of this coach built Jag it is.

With loads of history and MOTs back to 1991 showing 47000 miles the vendor considers the low recorded mileage as likely to be correct. The car has just come out of being in storage for three year and has just been fully recommissioned complete with a new MOT.

The exterior black paint is in good condition with just a couple of areas where there is some crazing evident but on the whole it polishes very nicely and still looks a million dollars. Exterior chrome work is all present and in good order. The folding rear section of the roof and the removable panels are in good condition and the storage bag for the panels is with the car. The wheels may well have been refurbished ten years ago but with such little usage are still very good as are the matched set of Pirelli tyres they are shod with and that includes the spare in the boot.

Inside the grey leather seats are in very good condition. The carpets are great the dash has no cracks and even the headlinings are good! Plus the original stereo is in place and all the electrics appear to work.

The 5.3 V12 purrs under the bonnet displaying good oil pressure and no leaks. On the road the water temperature is correct and the gearbox behaves correctly. Overall the running gears condition is very good with no knocks or bangs.

This car has been properly looked after over the years with some big bills in its history now offered at a price that will allow the new owner to improve if they want or just enjoy as is. Then sit back and enjoy as the values of these Jaguars just keeps on going up.

Rover 827 Vitesse Mk1 1989 With only 31 Rover Vitesses left on the road in the uk from the 7500 plus that were about in 1995 when the records started its hardly surprising you dont see them very often. What is surprising with the car you see here is its condition! Thought to be the best one available for sale if not the best MK1 827 Vitesse left G568HOX is in very good condition throughout.

The white bodywork again rare in this colour is virtually unmarked past some small cracks in the rear spoiler with no evidence of the corrosion that this model along with most late 80s car suffered from and appearing to be original.

The grey interior is excellent all bar some minor surface cracks in the wood veneer dash capping and as its the top of the range model very luxurious and well equipped. The electrics themselves are very good just the coolant light sometimes making random appearances but the vendor ensures this is just that a random light as there is nothing wrong with the cooling system in any way.

With only 77500 on the clock and although the service book has been lost there is plenty of paperwork and MOTs to back this up. The engine is very good benefiting from being a 2.7 Honda engine rather than the later models rover unit and the manual gearbox plus the rest of the running gear are in excellent order.

So a very rare survivor and one that is fast becoming sought after. Something different to use and visit the car shows in that you can almost guarantee will be the only one there.

Mercedes 420 SEL W126 1986 Rare and striking in white this very presentable 1986 W126 Mercedes is a nice example of the model range and benefits from having the sought after V8 engine. Having spent the best part of 8 years standing in private collections. The vendor purchased the car and set about getting the required MOT work and the running side of life so he could use it. Unfortunately now he has nowhere to keep it and rather than let it decline has opted to sell.

The body work has survived well having had paint work to a high standard at some point. Looks to of had the lower section of the car colour matched to the upper part to be all white. At this point the bumper lowers and mirror backs were also done and look very good still. However as is the norm for W126 Mercs there are a couple of areas where corrosion is evident under the paint these will need to be attended to sooner rather than later if you want to keep the car looking nice. The bumper chromes are good as are all the bright work round the car.

The interior is in excellent order and rare in the blue cloth you see it in. There is little or no wear evident big soft seats that in this colour contrast very nicely with the exterior white. Being the long wheel base SEL the room in the back is noticeably greater than the standard wheel base cars. The electrics all work accept the drivers window has stopped functioning and the radio in the dash has been disconnected as it was draining the battery.

Mechanically all is now good after having spent money with the MOT station making sure this was the case. The engine had a habit of dying under load and this was traced to various blockages in the fuel system caused by standing so long now all sorted the engine is smooth and powerful starting easily first time. Gearbox is excellent changing smoothly and the rest of the general mechanics are good the car now drives well.

There is a plastic wallet with the car containing old MOTs back to 1993 lots of old receipts and the original owners manual. SEL V8 W126 Mercedes have surged in popularity over the last couple of years along with most cars from the 80s this particular car is a good example that you can use as is and improve as you wish.

Jaguar MK 1X 1960 There is no getting away from it Jaguars MK 1X is an imposing car from all angles and with only a 2 year production run of just over 10000 cars was always going to be a rare car. Loved by visiting state dignitaries so often used as ceremonial cars and the first Jaguar to have power steering and servo assisted disc brakes on all four wheels.

The lovely 1960 example we have here has been lovingly refreshed over a period of time including a back to bare metal respray into the glorious Bronze colour it is in today. When this was done any and all areas of concern in the body work were replaced before many layers of paint were applied to obtain this finish.

Work did not stop at the bodywork while this was happening the car received a reconditioned gear box new rear brake discs complete with reconditioned callipers and obviously new brake pads new tyres all round and an upgrade to its headlights. The aim of this work was not just to have a beautiful car but one you could drive every day if you wished to.

Inside you will see the same level of attention has been lavished on the interior with the leather and wood being superb with the quality of craftsmanship displayed by the Jaguar trimmers often now lamented as long lost on modern luxury cars.

Under the bonnet the new for this model 3.8 litre engine now produced a claimed 220 horse power and even now 57 years on still pulls the car along with great ease and surprisingly quickly. Back in 1958 when launched car related publications were seeing speeds of well over 110 mph and today this engine coupled with the servo brakes and Jaguars good chassis makes the MK 1X a popular choice with classic car racers often to be seen gracefully 4 wheel drifting round circuits such as Goodwood at its revival and members meetings.

The general mechanics and the electrics are all very good. There is also a lot of service history and a current MOT until March 2018 done at 68818 miles (last MOTd at 67709 in 2015). If you are lucky enough to buy this Jag be prepared to be a very proud owner.

Mercedes SL30024 1992 Having sat in the vendors garage more or less since he bought it 3 years ago this nice 1992 Mercedes SL30024 valve convertible is now being offered for auction.

Presented in the unusually called blue black which is more of a grey the body work is in good order with only the odd mark here and there and the exterior bright work and alloy wheels are in nice condition too. The hard top is with the car and the vendor wishes to draw your attention to a problem with the soft top. Although the roof itself is good it does need a new back window as the original window that is still in place is cracked badly and not water tight. It never worried him as on the very rare occasion he drove the car he had the roof down as the sun was out.

The grey leather and burr wood veneer trimmed interior is in very good condition with none of the normal wear on the drivers seat side bolster and all the general electrics work.

Its 24 Valve 3litre 6 cylinder engine runs very nicely with good oil pressure and no overheating issues while the gearbox changes gear very smoothly. Not as powerful as the V8 engines the 3 litre 24 valve unit is not far behind and its lighter weight and faster revving nature make these Mercedes sports convertible fun to drive. The rest of the general mechanics on the car are good.

Unfortunately the vendor did not receive the service history with the car so the 65000 miles recorded on the odometer cannot be warranted as correct but in his words It drives well and the lack of service book never worried me The Mot has run out but having only done a matter of 200 or so miles since the last one (passed with no advisories which has done every year he has owned it) a fresh mot will be carried out before the auction.

Hopefully the damaged rear window in the soft top roof and this lack of history is more than made up for by a very low guide value. Making this car someones chance to buy a lovely Mercedes Convertible at below market price.

Jeep Wagoneer Right Hand Drive 1983 1983 Right Hand Drive Jeep Wagoneer must be a conversion yes? Not necessarily since way back in the 50s small numbers of Jeeps had been made primarily for the US Postal service for their workers on spread out rural rounds. Allowing them to pull up on the kerb side to get out or reach out to the post boxes along the road side. This practice carried on until 1983 when the last big user of RHD Jeeps USPS finished using them. So being a 1983 this Jeep Wagoneer is likely to be one of this last run.

The exterior condition of the car has had some minor restoration carried out to improve its overall look but in the vendors own words could do with some more tlc as it does have some marks and a scuff on the side.

Mechanically its 4.2 litre 6 cylinder petrol engine runs well and the automatic gear box along with the rest of the transmission is in good condition. Electric wise condition is fair with some gremlins here and there but as the car has spent the last few years standing in dry storage this is to be expected. Having said that a new MOT is to be carried out prior to sale so all the electrics will be of an MOT standard.

These big old Jeeps are now very rare especially in Right Hand Drive form you just do not see them anymore. This is a good example that will have a full MOT and one that with a little bit of work will repay the owner with an ever increasing value.

VW Beetle Outstanding Condition 1300cc 1967 We quote There is little doubt this is an exceptional if not outstanding and beautiful Beetle that drives superbly. A Lovely Example of one of these Iconic cars. Well not a lot more you can say about this superb condition 1967 VW Bug.

Having under gone a ground up restoration the body work is excellent. This was no quick blow over this was a full body and floor pan restoration including original specification wheels hubcaps shockabsorbers roof gutters heater channels the sills and spare wheel well were rust free. Then after it had been resprayed into its lovely Zenith Blue colour using only the best products new door seals window seals and stainless steel bumpers were fitted.

Inside the interior received the same treatment with new head lining and carpets while the seats were retrimed blue/grey with white piping. There is even the rare to find option a raRambus parcel tray!

Mechanically a new 1300cc Heritage TwinPort Engine converted to run on unleaded fuel and a new gearbox were fitted. Both of which have now completed a mere 2000 miles. The whole car has also been converted to 12Volt electrics so now it starts easier and things like the lighting are up to todays road conditions.

So as the vendor says it really is an exceptional Beetle. No its not cheap and yes you can buy something that looks similar but not one of this quality!

The body has then been professionally repainted in Volkswagen L360 Sea Blue with as much care given to the interior / underside as on the main body itself and when reassembly took place the Beetle was fitted with all new window door deck and bonnet rubbers.

Suspension _ All components stripped and cleaned. Larger items have then been painted / powdercoated before being built back up with all new bushes balljoints tierod ends bearings etc.

Brakes _ fully stripped and overhauled all new brake lines installed.

Lighting _ All lens chrome bezels and wiring have all been replaced and are in asnew condition.

Chrome / Bright work _ Again all new bumpers side trim window inserts etc. are new. The only chrome original to the car is that of the front quarter windows with this showing some minor pitting.

Mechanical _ I am led to believe that the engine / gearbox are correct to the car. The car has just had carried out a full service including oil filters plugs points condenser and also fitted a newly refurbished (and to original specification) Solex 28 PICT/1 Carburettor. The Beetle has since been professionally tuned and with a focus on maintaining originality it is fair to say the 40bhp motor suits a more leisurely drive but its delightful with how well the 1200 engine and gearbox perform.

Interior _ To establish a show quality car the interior was completely stripped out and fully replaced. She now has an original perforated headlining fitted the original badly worn steering wheel has been refurbished a bespoke Sisal carpet set with underfelt to reduce road noise and the seats / door cards have both been fully retrimmed in slate / offwhite and even she has had fitted a removable parcel shelf behind the rear seat. The ivory switch gear all remains in good working order and the car has an original Blaupunkt radio fitted (though this is purely for show but could be refurbished to working condition).

She comes with two sets of keys valid MOT recent receipts an Autopress Workshop Manual and currently shows a recorded 64100 miles. This beautiful 64 Beetle has received so many positive comments recently; people waving and great big smiles from young and old alike. Ready to find a new home this 64 Beetle is an absolute gem and not to be missed.

Secma (QPod) Fun Tech 50cc 3 wheeler. 2002 Conceived as an alternative to getting wet on a Moped and also being safer the Secma Fun Tech 3 wheeler was built. Powered by a 50cc Two Stroke engine this strange 3 wheeler allowed 16 year olds upwards to drive with just the basic CBT under their belt. Later in life a certain Noel Edmunds got involved and they were rebranded QPods some with much larger engines but unfortunately (some would say) like all these innovations the public was not ready for it and mix that in with high costs sales never really got going and production stopped.

Now a rare site indeed this particular 2002 example has spent most of its life sitting about unused and today is still in good condition and very original. Rare to find it comes with the full wet weather roof and doors a very expensive option to buy when new and now almost unobtainable.

Mechanically it runs and drives and with very little recommissioning could be back on the road easily we are told. Something to use or just put in your collection with your C5? Lets face it its rarer than a Ferrari!!

Mercedes 280SE Stacked headlight 1970 There is no getting away from the fact that these Stack headlight Mercs are a lovely looking car with a presence about them.

This nice 1970 280SE is no exception. Rare to find a Right Hand Drive car in this condition the current owner has just had the normal corrosion problems underneath the car professionally repaired prior to presenting it for its mot this removes one of the headaches these early Mercedes can suffer from.

Internally the interior is very nice and when you sit in there you realise how big Mercedes managed to make it feel. Large very comfortable seats trimmed in blue vinyl with both front and rear in excellent order. Carpets roof lining door cards and the dash with its large dials are in very good condition.

The vendor is happy to point out that the paintwork will need some attention if you are looking to make the car a show piece but its silver exterior is more than good enough if you are looking for a nice solid car you can actually drive. With the prices some examples of this model have sold for recently he feels he has allowed for this with his reserve. Exterior chrome work is present and in good all round condition.

Mechanically the car is very strong. With the engine gearbox and genearal mechanics all being described as good. It comes with almost every MOT issued and a lot of receipts showing how well this car has been looked after when in use. The current MOT is through to December and there has been very little use since it passed late last year.In fact its MOT history shows that less than 600 miles have been recorded since 2008.

So here is a rare opportunity to buy a very sought after Mercedes that is turnkey with loads of paperworkMOTd and best of all affordable.

Jeep Cherokee LTD in a rare colour 1998 This 1998 Jeep Cherokee has just had a small fortune spent on it. Primarily to bring it back to MOT standards not that it was particularly poor but a full set of tyres a new radiator and a new heater matrix plus all the fitting charges do not come cheap. Now still with only 125K miles on the clock it is ready to go.

These earlier model Jeeps with their much more utility look to them have always been popular compared to the later more rounded shape models. Partly for the rugged looks partly because they are a very good off roader.

The body work on this one does not look like its ever been on any surface that was not flat and black (its never been to Southend then? The land of the pot hole where the roads are rougher than your average field!) It presents very well in this unusual red colour with colour coded bumpers wheel arch extensions and side mouldings. The attractive alloy wheels complete with quality tyres all round are in good condition.

Inside you will find a very nice and highly optioned interior the grey leather seating set off by the wood trims on the doors and dash. All in good condition. Electrically these LTD variants have all the toys which the vendor says are working.

The 4 litre straight six engine and automatic gearbox that are fitted to these cars are legendary for being strong units not particularly powerful but bags of low down torque more than capable of doing the job with the least amount of fuss. The units in this car are no different with the vendor reports that the engine gearbox general mechanics and electrics are all good.

The car has a current MOT until the end of October and comes with good history and all its owners books and guides. A very nice looking 4_4 all round.
