Toyota MR2 Series 1 1987 This 1987 Toyota MR2 is a rare sight indeed today with most of the thousands that were sold disappearing due to our climate. Well luckily E122HAP had an owner that loved the car enough to carry out the repairs required and over the years a mint was spent doing just this. As proven by its exceptionally large history file.

The dark blue body work is in very good condition and is complimented by the optional subtle body kit and set off by a nice set of contrasting coloured aftermarket alloy wheels. The original blue cloth interior is in perfect condition and comes with the usual array of electrical options electric windows etc and three way adjustable seating.

Directly behind your back is the jewel of these cars that brilliant 1600cc double overhead cam multi valve engine that is more akin to a motorcycle engine by the way it loves to be revved. Toyota then matched it to a gear box with well suited ratios and aided by its midengine placement and suspension designed by Toyota but with input from Lotus created one of the best all round two seater sports cars of the time. This car is a fine example of that and all these years on it has to be one of the most fun cars to own and drive with the engine still pulling through the rev range and the gearbox selecting gears as designed. Along with the engine and gearbox in this car all the general mechanics are stated to be very good.

While currently the MOT is through to September the vendor is going to place a new one on the car prior to the auction. With demand for Japanese classic cars being very strong today these early MK1 MR2s are now very sought after.

Volkswagen PoloMatch Coupe Very Low miles 1994 This stunning little Polo Match Coupe has only covered 26000 miles from new and comes with a full history file to back this up. Unbelievably there are now only 63 of this model car left registered on the road here in the UK today how many of them have this mileage and history?

The body work is faultless and requires nothing more than a polish to keep it that way while the interior is more of the same not new but very good. Mechanically the 1000 cc engine hums along happily and although small is more than adequate to keep up with modern traffic. Having said that it was designed more as a town car which is where it really comes into its own the light steering and good breaks combined with an excellent turning circle made it the obvious choice in towns and cities but with the Match by offering it with the small engine so cheaper insurance but with a brighter interior trim amongst other things VW also attracted the younger first time driver this might also explain why so few exist in this condition today!

Those qualities are still true today which is why this car would make an excellent choice as an entry into the world of classic cars creating interest whether in a field full of Beetles and Split Screen campers or just ranked up at your local car show. Coming with an MOT through to March next year so ready to insure tax and use. A true survivor to be proud of.

Austin Mini Moke 25 Very low miles. 1990 The second of our Mokes was purchased new in Portugal in RHD format by its first owner prior to being imported into the UK in 1990 when he returned home. Now still with only 20K on the clock and only available due to the passing of its owner so it now has one previous keeper recorded on V5.

This car has not been restored it is however in very good original condition and has the upmarket trim associated with the limited 25 Moke that was produced to celebrate 25 years of production with only 250 built in total. Coming with its original service book owners books and workshop manual this little car really is a bit of Mini history.

Condition of the body is very good on top and underneath and being of the later design has the heavy duty nudge bars front and back even the original mud flaps are in place. There is a hood frame on the car but no hood itself these are available through the Moke owners club if required.

Inside not much changed over there 25 year production this one though does have the more upmarket seat trim of the 25 model along with red seat belts on all four seats and rubber mats on the sides for standing on when climbing in again all original in excellent order.

With basic Mini underpinnings there really is not much to go wrong on these cars the 998cc engine and four speed gearbox are happy to pull 4 adults along while its light weight wide track and low ride height give an entertaining ride through the twisty bits. Yes these cars today are an excellent investment and although we have two here today we are not likely to see another this year as they so rarely come to the market they love to be driven and it would be a shame if it was locked away from the public in a private collection not to be used.

Note: The vendor has been in contact with the Moke owners club who have confirmed the car is an original right hand drive Moke 25.

Volkswagen Beetle 1303 1975 Very solid and drives very well is the vendors description of this nice condition 1975 VW Beetle 1303. Coming with various bills receipts and old MOT history in which there is a receipt from November 2016 for a service and full brake over haul.

The 1300cc engine starts up readily with that familiar air cooled note that we all know soon settling off choke on to tick over. The gear box engages nicely into gear and the clutch operates correctly.

On the road it is happy to jog along and you soon adopt that beetle look you know that fixed grin and total lack of interest in rushing to get anywhere its a strange phenomenon that effects all owners young or old of these cars.

Interior though not new is very good being the later model the plastic dash that comes with that is good and there is a nice aftermarket steering wheel fitted. Past that its original and the seats have little wear in evidence. The rubber floor mats that traditionally split and fall to pieces appear to be the originals but are in good condition as well.

Body work is solid with only one or two patches that may need attention in the near future. The rear bumper is damaged from a light impact which has caused it to rust in places. The vendor is trying to find a good one to replace it with and if he can will replace it prior to sale (no guarantee though). Underneath the car is good but if there was any work required as the vendor will be putting a new MOT on the car this would have to be attended to. As far as he is aware that is not the case though.

General mechanics and electrics are all good and again will be up to or beyond UK MOT standards. So there you have it a nice solid Beetle with good mechanics a years MOT . That drives well and starts on the button and one that with the reserve that is set will not empty the piggy bank!

Ford Capri MK1 302 Cubic Inch V8 Recreation A very special machine!! 1977 Here at ECCA we have established as reputation of being different offering classic vehicles that have not been on the market before vehicles that are different from the norm alongside all the other more main stream Classics. We have had Porsche Tractors 5.3 V12 Trikes a replica Le Mans car amongst others buy now we bring you Capri or not Capri a very famous and multimulti award winning car built by its longtime owner Mr Geoff Phillips. It is stunning and the pictures do not do it justice!

Geoff started with the chassis made from 3.5 x 1.5 inch steel box section incorporated a full roll cage then using the exact dimensions of a MK1 Ford Capri he stretched the frame 14 in front of the bulkhead to allow the fitting later of a full house 5 litre Ford V8 engine. Over this he fitted hand crafted glass fibre panels to replicate the MK1 Capris all but the doors which are original Ford items. The finished shell received a very expensive coat of Mid Chrome yellow two pack acrylic with the eye catching graphics you see today.

Fully modified Triumph GT6 front suspension and steering with adjustable coil over shock absorbers. Up the back a Modified Jaguar MK2 back axle fully located with an adjustable 4 link system and Koni coil over shock absorbers takes care of that end. While braking is courtesy of 4 pot front brake callipers with vented discs rears are solid disc items using Jaguar callipers to provide the hand brake as well as stopping power. The system is a full dual circuit with a brake servo for extra assistance and uses Aeroquip hoses and silicone fluid throughout.

The engine is a Ford 302 Cubic inch motor fully rebuilt using the best available at the time including but not limited to Alluminium big valve heads competition cam shaft with roller rockers 600 cfm Holley carb on an Eldebrock performance manifold and Cermakrome coated Black Jack headers. Whew! Cooling for all this comes from a crossflow radiator fitted with electric fans and water pump. The gearbox is a Ford 3 speed auto with a B&M TransPak and Holeshot convertor.

The attention to detail does not stop there as you look inside and see the upholstery has all been hand trimmed in Scottish leather and tweed complete with a full dash board quick release steering wheel and reclining seats. Full instrumentation is taken care of by a set of recalibrated Smiths gauges and there are even electric windows. In car entertainment if you ever want to not hear the noise this car makes is provided by an Alpine head unit and infinity speakers. The car was completed and registered by DVLA as New on the 26th of October 1977.

This was not a labour of love more an obsession. One that has resulted in the finished article being featured in motoring magazines throughout Europe and winning more than 250 trophies at the top shows in Scandinavia Europe and the UK. But what really marks this car out is that it was driven to every one of those shows this was not a Trailer Queen and even today all these years on it is still in very good over all condition and is complete with a current MOT until 29/10/2017. Geoff also has every MOT from first registration. The engine oil and filter were changed religiously every 3000 miles and in fact have just been done so ready for its new owner. Geoff reports that the engine trans rear axle are in excellent condition as is the interior. Exterior is put as very good as apparently it has a minor mark or two! Mileage is now 39000 there are no known faults drives very well and is now only for sale due to his increasing age and lack of use.

How do you value something like this? It is a totally one of car that once more spot lights the depth of engineering you can find in garages and sheds throughout the UK. All Geoff asks that it goes to a good home so do we. Thanks Geoff from all the petrol heads out there.

PS. Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures that do not do thiscar justice but they were taken from real photos. ECCA

Mercedes 300SL R107 1989 Being first registered in August 1989 and production of the R107 finishing August 4th 1989 this nice 300 SL R107 must be one of the last to be registered in the UK before being superseded.

Having the 3 litre 6 cylinder engine gives this car only 10 horse power less than the 3.5 litre V8 but at less revs and lighter weight out front this translates to a very smooth and agile car that some people prefer a more sporty feel.

The vendor a Mercedes enthusiast himself has owned this car for the last 6 years and carried out any small jobs and maintenance himself. The car has a service history book stamped up to 127782 miles in 2005. Having now covered 153247 miles and still running very well. Equipped with the more popular automatic transmission which functions correctly this Merc drives very well on the road and turns heads wherever you go.

Its body work is very good with only a very few minor imperfections the vendor does point out that there is some minor bubbling evident on the top front of the drivers wing that if he were to keep the car would look to get rectified now rather than leaving to get worse. All the chrome and stainless steel work is great. The car has a navy blue coloured soft top hood and this is said to be very good.

The grey leather interior is very good just some very minor wear evident on the drivers seat bolster. The Stereo has been removed but otherwise the dash carpets and wood trims are in very good condition. The general electrics and mechanics are all good.

Prices on R107 model Mercedes go up year on year with the best of the best commanding prices equivalent or more than when new. This lovely example has a sensible reserve that will allow the market to decide on the day. A very useable car with an MOT until July 10th in a lovely colour combination

Jaguar XK8 4.2 Coupe Low Miles 2003 Not your normal run of the mill XK8 Coupe this 2003 Jaguar has been cherished its whole life and has only amassed a very low 53000 miles in that time. This is backed up by its main dealer service history consisting of 6 stamps the last at 51000 miles all in the original service book.

Its silver exterior paintwork is in very good order all round and gives a tasteful contrast to the excellent condition black leather interior. Being a Jaguar of this class it goes almost without saying that inside amongst all that leather and veneer you will find all of the options you would expect. Air con with auto climate control cruise reverse sensors electric seats and an electrically adjustable steering wheel to name but a few everything working and in good order. Outside again you will find it also has the optional 20 alloy wheels fitted.

With such low mileage and excellent service record the mechanics of the car are as you would expect all very good with that lovely 4.2 V8 under the bonnet just about run in. Gearbox brakes and all the electrics function correctly.

Its on the road though is where these Big cats belong. They are a proper drivers car and make an excellent GT capable of covering long distances with both pace and grace. Wellpresented cars such as this in lovely condition with good history and low miles are fast becoming sought after as a classic in their own right and reports of prices firming up and rising across the range are not exaggerated.

Landrover Defender 90 Turbo Diesel 1990 SWB Pick up THIS CAR IS LISTED AS A TOTAL LOSS Estimated cost of Commercial repair was more than value of vehicle.

This very nice Landy has as you can see been subject to a total loss claim in 2015. Apparently it had an under bonnet fire but we cannot verify this either way it is listed as not commercially viable to repair and the insurers wrote it off! Not an uncommon occurrence nowadays and becoming more and more common due to the inflated rates charged by some repair companies. You tell me how many 26 year old Land Rovers that A. Have not had some damage in their life and B. Look this good?

With only 104K miles on the clock it really is a very nice example. The 2.5 Liter Diesel engine fires straight up with no fuss and being this later model its equipped with a five speed gearbox. On the road the turbo pulls it along very well. Brakes and general mechanics are all good except the hand brake that does stick on (this will need to be looked at for its next MOT which is due on July the 12th . Exhaust tail pipe is missing so while not noisey in use could also require attention prior to MOT but inexpensive to fix. Wheels and tyres are all very good.

Interior is tidy with genuine floor mats and no sign of heavy usage. general electrics are all good to.

With the demise of production these real Land Rovers are getting harder to find and more expensive by the day. Without this ones history then it would definitely be worth 8k or so this gives someone the opportunity to own one for far less.

Buick Electra 225 455 Big Block 1970 Whether you like your cars from over the pond or not you cannot fail to be impressed by the sheer size of this 1970 Buick Electra 225. The 225 referring to the total length of these cars in inches yep that is a shade under 19 feet long!

This particular car is a true survivor having had one owner from new in the States who obviously looked after it. Since being imported the vendor has undertaken a mechanical refresh but has left the car original otherwise. He says that the car is 100% rot free and has supplied pictures from underneath to prove this.

The paintwork has at some point in its life been repainted as he says Its 10 out of 10 for an American job but he would say 7 out of 10 for us here in the UK. But very straight and presentable all the same.

Interior does need some slight attention where some of the pressed seams in the vinyl of the seats have parted but it is all there in good condition and useable as is.

Under the hood is where this car rings the bell. 1970 was the first year that Buick fitted their monster 455 cubic inch (7.5 litre apx) motor replacing the smaller 430 (7 litre apx) unit but it was the only year it was run as a high compression full power engine quoted at 370hp as by 1971 they had to drop the compression to make way for the first of the emission regulations. This monster size car is fast no getting away from that with the back tyres complaining easily if you are a bit heavy footed! The auto box is designed to cope with all this power and weight and changes smoothly no problem at all.

The brakes you will be glad to know have been overhauled so the big old finned drum brakes it is equipped do stop it well. Electrics on the whole work and as the car will have a fresh MOT will be up to that standard there are bound to be a couple of gremlins here and there but thats part of owning an old American car.

With the exchange rate the way it is today plus the cost of shipping a car this size you would not be able to buy and ship a car like this over from the States for the money this one is on sale at. Even if you did you are never sure of exactly what it will be like when it arrives. This one is here with all the hard work done is solid very rare with this engine and can be used as it stands for this years season of shows.

MG Y Series Stored in a dry barn for 40+ years! 1952 Back in the early seventies a fresh faced 15 year old lad thought it would be a jolly good idea to buy himself a car to do up and by the time he was old enough drive. Well as we all know good idea at the time but at that age things soon change suffice to say nothing was done more than parking it in his parents barn and that is where it has stayed ever since until now 40 odd years later. So not a Barn Find as he knew it was there more of a Barn Stored and the realisation that he would never get round to doing anything with it! After a successful and enjoyable day at our last Auction the decision was taken to give someone else the chance to save this lovely old English car so here it is.

UMG 810 is a 1953 MG Model Y and comes complete with its original buff log book. The registration number has not been allocated to another car according to the DVLA so the new owner should have no problem claiming the number as the original for the car but this is something they will have to do.

As you can see time has not been too unkind to the car. The vendor says that the exterior has surface rust but is structurally sound with good running boards etc. There is rust in the front doors around the both the boot and spare wheel lids but is more or less complete. Underneath the car is very solid.

The interior is complete but will need a full retrim as it is pretty moth eaten and the roof lining has long since come down.

Engine condition is unknown but he was told it had been reconditioned when he bought it and the Duckhams used at the time still appears green in colour! The engine does turn with the starting handle so is not seized. Obviously the condition of the transmission is also unknown but it is all there. This goes for the rest of the mechanical and the electrical items on the car present but condition unknown. The car does roll quite easily so the brakes are not locked on. Tyres? Well they are on the wheels and keeping the rims of the floor but that is about all they are good for.

This car has to be considered as a full restoration project but one that has not been offered on the market for 40 years so a real find in its own rights!

Fiat Barchetta 1977 NO RESERVE This 1997 Fiat Barchetta is looking for some TLC by its next owner and is being offered for sale as a running driving project. These is no MOT on the car and as such cannot be legally driven on public roads.

Having said that a member of staff has driven the car on a private road and says Ignore the poor paint on the car plus its bumps and scuffs as once in the car you cant see them. The interior is actually in good condition with no real wear evident anywhere. That sweet 1800cc Twin Cam engine up front started easily no smoke and no sign of overheating during the 15 minutes or so of being driven. The engine loves to be revved and although not used under load the high gears (room constraints) along with the rest are all there. Brakes work well. Electrics all seem to work but the electric windows are intermittent and although definitely working they work when they want. There are no unwanted dash warning lights on when running. All in all it drives pretty well!

The body work on the car has suffered there is lacquer peel on all of the rear and mid to rear top surfaces although the front panels and bonnet do polish well. Plus a small dent on the r/h rear corner that has also cracked the bumper cover. The roof is there but it is finished the back window has basically gone and there are a couple of tears where it folds not expensive to replace though. Wheels and tyres need little more than the silver on the wheels being refreshed.

A great project for someone as the basics are very good and prices of these rare left hand drive only Barchettas are now such that you could spend only a small amount to tidy it up and have a good car for very little money and one that is going up in value steadily. Comes with its original owners wallet with various books etc in it.
