Jaguar XK8 Convertible 2000 - With their unmistakeable lines the XK8 Jaguar harks back to the days of the E Type, their long bonnet wrapped round Jaguars gloriously smooth Double overhead cam V8 engine, producing 290 Horse Power and mated to a 5 speed automatic gearbox that in auto mode changes gear so smoothly it is almost un-noticeable while if you hit the "sport" mode button you will see 60mph arrive from zero in a quoted 6.5 seconds, on the way to a limited to 155mph. Couple this with their taught suspension and sumptuous interiors you can see why it was capable of challenging cars like BMW, Porsche, Lexus and Mercedes for their share of the market.

This particular convertible example was first registered on the 24th of March 2000 and has had three very careful owners, covering a mere 89000 miles in 16 years and complete with an excellent service history showing services at 10K, 20K, 32K, 45K, 55K, 66K, 71K, 77K, 78K, 84K and lastly 87K miles.

Its Topaz Gold exterior is excellent, complimented by a lovely, original set of Jaguar wide alloy wheels and a light brown convertible hood, both again in very good order. Inside the interior is in a light grey/sand coloured leather and burr wood, giving a light spacious feel, even with the roof up. There is very slight wear on the driver's side bolster and being a two plus two, there is room for two small ones in the back and it comes with all the creature comforts as standard ie. Automatic climate control, electric memory seats, trip computer, etc etc. One thing of note, which is unusual to the XK in this market sector, is its ability to swallow two sets of golf clubs in its boot, so great at the Golf club but another thing that makes these cars such excellent, long distance "GT" cars.

The vendor reports that both the engine and gearbox are excellent on this car, as are the overall electrics and running gear, with the car driving as it should. The MOT is current until March next year and it is complete with service book etc. So the only question is "How come these cars are so affordable and how much longer will it stay this way?" Well "Not long" is the answer with lovely examples like this one now becoming sought after and values are growing along with the demand.

MG Magnette Mk4 "Farina" 1963 LHD Automatic - In 1961 MG replaced their Mk3 Farina bodied Magnette with the MK4 improving the handling and engine along the way with new anti-roll bars front and rear, suspension that lowered the ride height of the car plus a longer, wider wheel base. The engine was replaced using the 1622cc unit from their successful sports car the MGA. All this gave these later MG saloons handling and performance more akin to the sports car heritage associated with the "MG" name.
This superb example is a very rare automatic gearbox equipped Left Hand Drive model that was manufactured for the USA home market and first registered in 1963. Having spent most of its life prior to re-importation in a warm dry climate and with only 67000 odd miles recorded in total, it has survived excellently both externally and internally.
Presented in a lovely hue of dark green, the paintwork appears to be original with only small areas where the expected odd scratch etc have been rectified over the years. As the vendor states, this car has never been rusty or restored. The interior is the same, still original in Dove Grey leather and having never had a radio fitted the dash is un-cut with the original matching wood blanking plate in place and unused standard speaker mount below. There is a small area of discoloration to the driver's seat bolster which seems to be where something was spilt and then cleaned at some point. Easy to recolonise to lose this which the vendor resisted doing as he preferred its originality.
Mechanically the vendor describes the engine as "runs as quiet as a mouse" with the auto gearbox operating as it was designed to, as do all the other mechanics on the car. In fact in 2015 he completed a 1000 odd mile trip through France visiting the famous WW2 sites such as Normandy, all without the car missing a beat.
The car comes complete with a large file of old MOT's, invoices etc etc plus handbooks, manuals and period sales literature, it even has an original American "Pink slip" . The vendor also wants to bring to attention to all perspective owners, the car is so original it is still running as a "positive Earth" car as designed.
With only 7 in total Farina bodied MK3 and 4 Magnettes now left taxed for road use and one more on SORN, these cars are getting exceedingly rare and are increasing in value every day. This is a turn key ready to go car with the vendor placing a new MOT prior to its sale at the auction. Being offered at the sort of reserve that makes it a must buy for any collector or somebody looking for an entry into affordable classic car ownership.
NOTE. Personal plate has been removed now back on the correct Age Related "A" suffix plate and a "Heritage Certificate" for the car is in the paperwork. The original amber front lenses are supplied if the new owner wishes to replace the clear ones with amber bulbs that are currently fitted. MOT now carried out which it passed with flying colours.

TVR 280i "Tasmin" 1984 - If any car epitomised the era of the "Wedge" sport cars it has to be this. Designed by the same man as the Lotus Elite S2 the TVR Tasmin, later to be called a 280i, started TVR's range of this shape car. Fitted for the UK with a Ford V6 2.8 injected engine and offering as a first for TVR, an Automatic option alongside the 4 and 5 speed manual gearboxes. With only just under 1200 V6 engine cars produced over its 7 year production run, they make for a rare but eye catching site on the roads today.
This example is a rare beast indeed, not messed with by any of its owners and apart from a recent set of GAZ shock absorbers (X4), rear suspension springs, rear hatch struts and a full set of silicon water hoses, is completely original.
The metallic grey bodywork shows no signs of delamination or spiders to the fibre glass and is described as very good by the vendor, with only the slightest marks etc. Interior wise the red leather is good with just a small split to one seam on the driver's seat and some areas of dryness that could easily re reconolised on both seats. The dash, door cards, carpets and boot area are all very good. Very unusual for an older fibre glass car is that all the electrics including mirrors windows etc still work!
The vendor states that the engine, gearbox and running gear are all excellent and earlier this year he completed a trouble free tour into Europe. The car comes with a file of old MOTs and receipts helping to back up the low recorded mileage of 58300. With its current MOT until March 2017 this rare TVR is ready to enjoy.

Honda CB400F "Four Hundred Four" - This lovely and mainly original 1976 Honda 400 Four is part of a private collection we have been asked to offer through our future auctions, this particular bike in November.
Honda turned the middleweight bike market on its head when they introduced the CB400F into the UK. Here was a 4 cylinder 400cc bike, that in itself amazed most people, that was more than capable of out running and out handling many of the much larger cc motorcycles on offer from the established manufacturers at the time. Now examples like this are highly sought after and their values are increasing daily.
Having been totally refreshed by its owner but then left in his collection, this bike will need some very mild recommisioning (change the oil and filter, check the tyre pressures etc) prior to use and will make a superb addition to any ones garage especially as having swinging arm mounted footrests marks it out as being an early "first year of production" model. Last registered keeper had it since 1985 and it comes with a stack of old MOT's back to 1998 helping to confirm its low mileage.
UPDATE. The bike has now had its carb's cleaned, fresh petrol, new battery and has passed its UK MOT so is running and riding as it should.

Lot number: 120

Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe Sport 1988 - Needing no introduction this lovely Porsche 911 is in very good condition, its body having received a repaint at some point and now having no more than a couple of minor faults. There is just something so evocative about this shape with its large rear spoiler and low stance. This particular car has "RS Style" colour matched front and rear bumpers but the vendor has the originals if preferred and these will be included in the sale at no extra cost ( collection to be arranged separately), these along with the Fuch alloy wheels add to the overall look of the car.

Interior condition is good with the two tone leather bucket seats in good order. If being really critical (which the vendor is) the carpets are showing signs of wear and if he were keeping it he personally would replace them, but they are still very serviceable. The rear seat back rest pads, for what they are worth, are missing. Not that you can get in the back unless you are a "small" person.

Mechanically it is all good news. With only an average 159K on the clock and a full Porsche and Porsche Specialist history up to 105K , then more stamps at 157K , the 3.2 Litre engine in the back still "pulls like a train" and puts a grin on your face every time you get he chance to use it "properly". No need to rev the hell out of it, just loads of "grunt" in all the gears and that engine noise peculiar to Porsche's famous Flat 6 engine. All helped by this being a late model car so has the later "G50" 5 speed box , so giving a more precise gear change.

The vendor does bring to our attention that all electrics including the front seat adjustment and electric roof etc work but at the moment the electric adjustment on the mirrors has stopped functioning "O" and for the purists, they are actually later 993 Mirrors. He would not be selling the car, but having only covered 2000 miles in the 3 years he has owned it and it sits blocking up the garage, the wife and kids have won the argument and its time for someone else to enjoy the car.

It comes with the history already mentioned, a file of receipts and invoices and is currently MOT'd until May 2017. Offered with a very reasonable reserve so making it a rare opportunity to buy one of Porsche's finest that's ready to go at an affordable price.

NOTE: The vendor has said he will be getting an oil and filter change, plus a check over, prior to selling the car to be sure all is good for the next owner.

BMW 635CSi 1987 - "Eye catching" in this colour is how the vendor describes this lovely example of BMW's flagship 80's Sports Coupe. Equiped with the later 3.5 engine that produced well over 200 horse power, these cars were the ultimate long distant GT cars of their time.
This particular example in radiant "Henna Red" is described as very good in all areas, interior is excellent with no areas of wear. The engine is silky smooth and with only 143K on the clock, barely run in and "on the button" . The automatic gearbox functions as BMW designed it to. General mechanics are all stated to be very good.
With a current MOT till May next year, it is ready to go.

Fiat 600 1971 - This very straight and solid Fiat 600 was recently imported from Europe and is now fully UK registered on its correct UK age related plate.
Very much the under dog to its smaller brother the 500, the 600's drive so much better and with the extra room inside, better engine and much improved gearbox they really do put a smile on your face, while managing to not only scoot about town but loving the twisty bits out of town as well. No they will not set a new land speed records but are more than capable of being used outside the 30mph limits without holding traffic up. With people realising this prices are now on their way up.
This particular car runs and drives very well, the previous owner flying out to buy it in Holland and driving it home. Having driven it 20 odd miles ourself we can agree with him. Body is very solid and polish's nicely while being in a very period hue of green . The interior is useable as is but could easily be improved in places. General mechanics are good as is the engine and gearbox.
So what you have is a very useable classic car that presents well whose interior could be improved over time if required. But is a turn key car wi MOT'd through to the 2nd of February and which comes with loads of reciepts, its original owners books and paperwork.

Jaguar XJS Convertible 1990 *Low Mileage* - This gorgeous XJS Convertible is now entered into our next auction. Now there are plenty of tired examples of these cars out there, this is not one of them and with this in mind, we feel, is being offered with a very sensible reserve.
Its body work and paint is superb, especially in this colour combination. Paint was refreshed by a previous owner who took pictures to prove it was just an asortment of car park dinks etc sustained while owned by a "Senior Citizen". No nasty dents and NO rust. The superb interior is the same story, just a soft reconolisation to the bolsters and that was it, more to feed it than colour.
Coming with not only its original and complete Jaguar tool Kit it also has a Full Service History. In the history is the evidence of a Jaguar Dealer replacing a faulty speedometer at 54000miles with a good used unit that had 7400 miles at fitment, now showing 26000 so a very low total of 72.600 from new. With this in mind it explains why the V12 5.3 engine the car is equiped with, starts first turn of the key and settles instantly into a purr only found with 12 cylinder engines, it is barely run in.
The vendor states every thing as very good and having just had a service and a new MOT really is ready to go and as he says " Its just a lovely thing to own and drive or just look at" what more can you say apart from we make him right!

James Captain 1950 - Having been in a collection since it was restored , unfortunately the vendor has currently mis-placed the papers for this very nice James Motorcycle. The DVLA have confirmed the number plate has not been re-issued and said it should be a straight forward case of filing in the relevant forms and issuing the new V5. especially when backed up with the old tax disc issued in 1960 still on the bike.
Prior to going into the vendors collection this bike was refurbished with new parts where necessary ie new wheel rims and spokes plus tires. It has been stood un-used ever since so will need a level of recommisioning prior to use. Believed to be a 1950 model .
UPDATE : This charming motorcycle has had its carb and fuel pipes cleaned, fresh petrol, timing set and off it went, nows runs like clockwork and moves under its own steam ( well cloud of two stroke smoke).

When looking at the car it is clear to see that spending the majority of its life from new, in Australia's warm climate, has benefited it enormously with its body and underside being totally rust free and structurally sound, unlike so many Right Hand Drive cars offered on the market today.
With the car is a good history file showing service and maintenance plus an extensive invoice record for new parts etc. dating right back to 2002 when the car was imported to the UK. Recent service and tuning work has been carried out by respected Porsche specialists " Autostrasse " of Coggeshall Essex, including a recent £3000 service and maintanance bill and there's a years MOT on it.
Body work is finished in the much sought after bright silver colour, complimented with a contrasting black interior and features a rare optional electric metal sunroof (fully operational) and although not original, a genuine Porsche Classic Stereo with Radio, CD, and Navigation features.
Equipped with a 2.7 flat six engine and a manual gearbox, this is not only a real drivers machine but a magnificent investment opportunity. Cars as nice as this rare to find and the values of all air cooled 911's are climbing year on year. This car is turnkey, ready to go, would look great in anyone's garage or collection and is definitely better than money in the bank!
PLEASE NOTE: The personal plate will be removed prior to sale and replaced with the original age related plate issued by DVLA. As such it does NOT form any part of nor is it included in the sale contract.

Rolls Royce Silver Shadow 11 1979 - This beautiful piece of British engineering was ordered when new by the Rolls Royce main dealer in Hong Kong, M. D. Motors. They had it built for their client and as the island still under British rule then, it was built to UK Spec and shipped out to them. While in Hong Kong, M.D.Motors continued to service the car for this owner right up till 1999 when he returned to the UK and bought the car back with him, at this point the car had only covered 33000 miles (it's a small island Hong Kong). Now back in the UK he had the car serviced by his local Rolls Royce specialists up to when the vendor bought it, with only 42000 miles on the clock! The V5 still only shows the one owner since re-importation and the condition of the car is backed up by a massive history file from new.

What can be said about a 37 year old Rolls Royce with only 42000 miles on the clock? It is obviously in an excellent all round condition and the photos do not do it justice. Paint work is next to flaw less with no signs of repairs or damage. The Cardinal red it is finished in is complimented very nicely by the pale sandy brown of its leather interior, The first thing you notice when you open the doors is not only the superb condition of the seats, both front and rear and that smell you only get in an older quality, but the quality of the wood dash and door capping's and their lack of cracking, very rare especially on the dash. They have that lovely well-polished look that only comes over time and you lose if refinished. The front seats have the rare optional head rests fitted. Move into the back and it's the same beautiful condition with the foot rests in place still, look up and the leather headlining appears to be unmarked.

The vendor says that when he drove it back nearly 350 miles the only thing he could fault the car on was it seemed to have a slight "patter" at speed, this was traced to one tyre being out of true so all four were replaced with the right Avons, not a cheap alternative and normal service was resumed. It now drives as it should. All aspects of the car are described as very good, with only the electric aerial not working. The motor turns so probably just a new internal mast required.

The service history on this car is like a book, cataloguing its life from the original order from the Hong Kong dealership, its bill of sale, letters from the shipping company, bills, receipts and invoices for work done and when done, to all its hand books, old MOTs and will have a new MOT prior to sale . Truly a full history, one owner, very low mileage Rolls. A rare find indeed!

Sorry for the poor pictures but the car was blocked in on the day we visited. They do not do it justice.
