Buying Guide:

There are a number of ways to bid on lots at Stacey's, so no matter what you have planned for your day, you won't miss out.

( PLEAE NOTE: we no longer accept credit cards as a form of payment)

Bidding in the room:

If you have never bid with us before you will initially need to register with us. Once this is completed we will supply you with a unique paddle number which is yours for life. Once you have got your card, you only need to raise this during the auction to place a bid. If you are successful, allow the auctioneer to see your bidding card and record your paddle number. After the sale you can return your paddle to the office, pay your invoice and collect your items.

Commission Bidding:

If you are unable to attend the auction you can leave a commission bid. This is the maximum amount you would be willing to pay for an item. The auctioneer will then bid on your behalf against other bidders. The auctioneer will only bid against other bidders, so you may be successful in purchasing a lot well below your maximum if no one else is bidding.

Telephone Bidding:

If you are unable to attend the auction but want a live bid, you can arrange a telephone bid. Some auction rooms only allow this on certain lots but we feel you should have the opportunity on every lot. A member of auction staff will ring you a few lots before your requested lot, when the lot goes under the hammer, you will have the option to bid over the phone live with the member of staff relaying bids between you and the auctioneer. There are no extra charges incurred for arranging a telephone bid.

Online bidding:

Over one third of all our sales now take place online from local customers that prefer to sit in the comfort of their own home, to bidders all over the world. We offer live online bidding via www.the-saleroom.com, once registered you will be issued a unique online bidding number (for example SR12345). Through the website you can follow the sale live, as well as watch and hear the auctioneer (Bidding is as simple as a click of a button and an image of each lot is displayed as it goes under the hammer.

We also use easy live for online bidding

Collecting your purchases :

If you are participating in an auction in person and are successful in winning the lots you are free to collect and remove your item there once payment has been confirmed. If you are unable to do so we are happy to refer you to a number of firms for postage and packing:
