In the early 1990s, working with Armando Iannucci for 'On the Hour' and 'The Day Today', Steve Coogan, working with Armando Iannucci for 'On the Hour' and 'The Day Today', he created his most popular and most developed character; Alan Partridge, a socially and politically incorrect local radio personality, who would feature in two eponymous television series, 'Knowing Me Knowing You with Alan Partridge' and 'I'm Alan Partridge', both hugely popular and nominated for five BAFTAs in total. On August the 7th 'Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa' hit UK cinemas. Described by Steve as 'a cross between classic hostage thriller Dog Day Afternoon and '70s TV industry satire Network' it has been hailed as one of the best films of the year.
