Michael Ball has appeared in many musicals in the last two decades - as Alex in Aspects of Love, Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Edna Turnblad in Hairspray for which he won the 2008 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical. He most recently played the role of Sweeney Todd in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street at the Adelphi Theatre in the West End which earned him another Olivier award in 2013.
