A Gilt Copper Votive Plaque Tibet / Nepal, Late 19th Century Centred by a seated Buddha on lotus base, with all over floral inlaid stone sprays, within a rectangular panel, and floral stone inlaid border. 20cm x 15.4cm. Prov. From the estate of Maharaja Bahadur of Burdwan" refered to as Sir Bijay Chand Mahtab (1881���1941), gifted to the vendors mother from the Maharaja of Burdwan in 1940 - (see attached gift card ). She said she'd admired it hanging on the wall at his Palace Residence - she first visited there early/mid 1930s. Whilst living, working near by and then married in India and became close to the Maharaja and his family until his death.
