Mini Cooper MK2 Running Restoration Project 1969 Not on the road since 1988/9 this delightful 1969 Morris Mini cooper MK2 is an exciting car on todays market. Obviously at some point it was built with competition in mind and at one point it was registered to the same owner for 30 years we tried to contact him to no avail. The current vendor knows very little about it he bought it as you see it now because he liked it. The engine fires up very easily and apparently Goes like the clappers! There are Abingdon Special Tuning And Downton plaques on the rocker cover but no way of proving that these are no more than that plaques! However things you can see are the Oil filter is of the remote type a larger carburettor on an ally inlet manifold silicon HT leads. The battery is in the boot along with a single competition fuel pump with fuel filters in line on both feeds from the two petrol tanks. All this work looks like it was done a long time ago Gearbox and clutch function as do the brakes. The interior has a pair of period bucket seats a full selection of additional clocks additional fuse box mounted on the dash for ease of access. Extended switches so you can reach them more easily and a navigators map reading light all looks in good condition but not tested. Body work seems solid and has a fibre glass roof panel? It has that great feel about it that only an old Mini has. That Yeah It might have got some bruises and not be the prettiest car on the block but you cant help liking it thing. It has not been cleaned but actually preserved as found. There is NO mot on the car and it is being offered as a running RESTORATION project. NOTE : We will endeavour to find out more and if successful will update this listing periodically. Until then our estimate will also depend on what we can find out.
