Norton ES2 1950 - With Norton producing their ES2 model from 1927 to 1964 the long stroke motor retained the same, bore, stroke and 490cc, while the chassis received various updates throughout. This particular model, being a 1950 has the then innovative hydraulically damped telescopic front forks and race developed rear plunger suspension, helping to improve the handling over the earlier bikes no end. As you can see it is tucked away at the back of the vendors garage as part of a small collection of bikes and cars, unfortunately an injury sustained from a car accident way back in the 60s has come back to haunt him now and he can no longer ride a bike. It has been fully restored a few years back and now the restoration has aged superbly, still in lovely condition throughout but has lost that "just built" brand new appearance. It really is as nice as it looks, not really much more to add "O" apart from sensibly an additional tap has been fitted to allow the oil in the oil tank to be turned off when not in use to stop the traditional problem of oil draining into the engines sump. Offered with a sensible reserve this great old Norton would fit into any collection or look great in your garage.
