In 2002, Plantlife conducted a "County Flowers" public survey to assign flowers to each of the counties of the United Kingdom and the common poppy was assigned as the county flower of Essex. Poppy the Penguin celebrates both these symbols. Allison constantly explores new techniques and subject matter, drawn to extremes; youth and age, brokenness and joy, light and dark.
