1967 Shamrock Rovers (Boston) Tour pennant: Famous competition in 1967 organised by the North American Soccer League. Wolves Aberdeen Stoke and many big international clubs in attendance. To attract the locals the football club would adopt an American city. Shamrock Rovers were Boston. This large pennant which surely belongs back in the Shamrock Rovers boardroom was given to the opposing captain. From the Maurice Setters Collection who was captain of the Cleveland Stokers (Stoke City) who played them on June 4th. Measures 21 inches and is of the highest quality embroidery. C/W programme for the match Boston Shamrock Rovers v Cleveland Stokers.

Washington Whips (Aberdeen) 1967 Tour Pennant: A competition organised by the North American Soccer League where international  clubs would change their name to generate local interest. Aberdeen were the Washington Whips and this was given to opposing captain Maurice Setters of the Cleveland Stoker who were Stoke City. Measuring 17 inches we do not know if it originally had a pole or not. Lyndon Johnson the USA President claimed he was an Aberdeen season ticket holder as a publicity stunt. Claimed to this day to be Aberdeens most exciting match, they got to the final and lost 6-5 to Wolves with a sending off. Rare Aberdeen item. C/W two postcards from other participating teams.

Glentoran like all teams on this American Soccer League tournament were given a USA city name to generate local interest and were called the Detroit Cougars. Would love this quality embroidered pennant to end its journey back in Northern Ireland. We believe that a match was played to honour 50 years since this famous tour in 2017.

A blown up size programme page all hand signed in blue biro by every player. For England there is Bobby Moore Bobby Charlton and the whole team with Ramsey and Shepherdson plus the referee and linesmen. It gets better as all the opposing team have signed with players such as Gento Eusebio Di Stefano Law Yashin and even the subs have signed to include Seeler. Genuine item from the collection of Maurice Setters. Bit of tearing to border not affecting any text.
