Important notice for collections and office opening times
We are open until Tuesday 23 December 2025 from 8:30am to 4:00pm and will reopen on Friday 2 January 2026 for normal working hours.
We are also open for collections only on Monday 29 and Tuesday 30 December from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Appointments are required, so please contact the office to arrange a time.

A rare and interesting letter The abolishment of the slave trade. The letter written by George Thomson. One of the most significant people to drive forward the abolishment of the slave trade. His father worked on slave ships and the stories of the horrors of what happened played an important part in him becoming a Slave trade abolitionist. The letter entitled Negro Slavery. and signed and dated Oct 21 1831. Sold also with a pencil sketch by his wife and one other watercolour of the period depicting a colonial house. (3)
