The Memoirs of Field-Marshal Montgomery, signed in blue ink on the title page and dated 3 November 1960. This autographed edition by Montgomery was published for The Members of The Companion Boom Club in 1960 and is in generally good order with a signature of the owner in ink in the first page.

A handwritten note by artist Francis Bacon (size approx 25x20.5cm) confirming is his desire to have work costing '3565.00' carried out on the roof of his home at 7 Reece Mews S.W.7. The note is signed clearly at the bottom.The story being that this work carried out in the recession and on completion of the work Francis offered to the vendor a painting or the balance outstanding for the work. However the vendor decided to take the offer of payment as they did not have much in those days.
