A fabulous mid Victorian novelty silver plated condiment holder in the form of a finely detailed boat with figural decoration including a tiller operator and at the other end a seated man, with a further sailor using a spy glass and the union flag flying on the mast. All on four feet in the form of a fish, Victorian lozenge diamond registration mark for the 1860s.

An English silver snuff box of military interest poignantly having been the property of Captain John Chamberlain MC and hallmarked for Birmingham 1910 and engraved 3rd South Wales Borderes, the Captain then having been killed in action in Flanders additionally engraved, presumably by his family ''Killed in Flanders, May 1917'', the box itself of curved rectangular form and with striped decoration and with a button to the centre probably having been taken from his uniform, the box accompanied with a two page obituary of the Captain charting his career through to his death at the age of 35.

This box decorated with a gilded crown and with the initials M and S to the front, stamped marks including a letter B, possibly for Bergen.
