Staceys Auctioneers are proud to announce the consignment of a rare and fine Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Paul Newman stainless steel gentleman's bracelet watch, circa 1975. The model number 6265/0 serial number 3952354. One owner from new with Rolex service history and original box. The watch is complete original, full working order. The watch as purchased by the vendor in 1975, the dial in all original condition original strap, with official Rolex Service card dated 24/01/12. This particular example importantly has an unrestored panda dial and original lightweight bracelet. This model, the 6265, was produced at the same time as the 6263, but with the outer movable bezel in stainless steel. With low numbers produced in the early days of sponsorship of the Daytona race track in 1962, the rarity of these watches only helps its value. The association with actor and racing driver Paul Newman also undoubtedly encouraged the value of these early Daytona examples; Paul Newmans personal Daytona made a record breaking $15 million. No doubt the honest originality of this Watch will see it achieve a good price.
