A WW2 Pith helmet appointed to Sir John "Jock" Colville, the assistant private secretary of Winston Churchill during WW2, known for writing numerous diaries about his time at 10 Downing Street with the Prime Minister during war time. Sir John Colville also took part in WW2 as a pilot in the RAF Reserves serving from 1941-44. Colville was knighted in 1974. This particular Pith Helmet was manufactured at the Cawnpore Mills Depot in Bombay, made especially for Sir John Colville.
