Lot number: 926

A Lambeth Doulton stoneware vase with scrolling incised decoration, having impressed and incised marks to the base for the 1888 Glasgow exhibition. Doulton had a major stand at the Glasgow 1888 International Exhibition. In line with the prevailing fashion for flamboyant architecture, this was modelled as an Indian Pavilion. A kiln was erected within and visitors could buy from a selection of stoneware pots which were thrown, decorated and fired at the exhibition.

Estimate £80 to £120
