Ford Fiesta RS1800i 1994 - After Ford removed the turbo from the Fiesta range its replacement was the RS1800i , producing roughly the same 130 horse power but without the punch in the back, sales were slow until eventually, after only a couple of years it too was dropped. Up till now this great little car has lived in the shadow of its predecessor, but with their ability to blow up without notice and after years of British winters, nice Turbo cars are very collectable and expensive which leads people to try the 1800i instead. Normally, much to their surprise, they find the 1800i a nicer car to drive, in the real world being just as quick and agile, but better on fuel and much cheaper to insure. Now with only 25 examples left taxed for road use the values like all performance Fords and Hot Hatches are going up, mint examples commanding high prices.This particular car is a late in the run 1994 model with only 64200 miles recorded on the odometer. There is a stamped service book through to 45,000 and with MOTs back to April 06 with 45175 recorded through to the latest in March this year showing 64200, this mileage although not guaranteed could well be correct.The top side of the car is stated to be in good order, not mint but nice and polishes well. There are minor faults here and there but still very presentable. Underneath the vendor says that although good for its last MOT he does feel that there may well be some work required to the sill areas at some stage in the future.Driving well, its engine which only recently had a minor service, pulls very willingly with no known nasties. The same is said about its transmission, the gearbox being both smooth and precise and the clutch is in good working order. The electrics all work and the general mechanics have no known faults.The cloth trimmed sports interior complete with Recaro seating is tidy with just the usual wear and tear found in an unrestored car of this age, not filthy dirty and full of holes, like some and still very useable as is.With an MOT till 26th of June this year, low recorded miles, some history and in a sought after colour, this good looking baby Ford would double nicely as a commuter in the week and with some effort, a show car at the weekends.
