Lot number: 114

MG MGB GT 1981 - Sold new in 1981 to a lady in St Helier Jersey, this superb example of probably one of Great Britains most loved sport car remained n Jersey and in her ownership until August 2007 when it was sold to and imported by Abingdon services, by which time it had covered a mere 36,819 miles. It was then sold to its second owner who along with some general light refurbishment he also treated it to a full interior re-trim in black leather. In 2012 and with still only 37,700 the car was sold at auction to the current owner and vendor. It was bought for a father and son to enjoy days out and classic motoring when the father recovered from an on going illness. Unfortunately the father never did get to enjoy the car as he never recovered and the car was left stationary in the sons garage until now , still with only 38,496 miles recorded. Now we have been entrusted by the vendor to recover the car and get it running prior to sale. It needed little more than some fresh petrol and a new battery and starter relay and burst straight into life. So here you have a very late model, low mileage car in a lovely colour combination, that while the body work is very good, needs minor remedial work here and there. Underneath is superb.Interior seats are very nice with all electrics appearing to work including a electric fan fitted to the radiator. Engine and gearbox (with overdrive) are very good with good oil pressure showing on the engine. Under the bonnet is all original apart from the fan and relay, no rust on the bulk head etc. In fact with very little work and some basic recomissioning the car could be made into a show piece especially with the recorded mileage. Supplied with its service book.

Estimate £2800 to £3600
