An MC group of three had been given to Lieutenant Campbell Seymour Milford, 1st Battalion. Gazette issue 31043. M.C. His Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to approve of the following award in recognition of gallantry and devotion to duty in the Field. He led the leading company on the flank of the attack and secured the ground for 1,000 yards in front of the objective, organising a strong defensive position. His men were weary with a long march, and the success of the operation and the few casualties it entailed in his locality was due to his personal example of resolution and courage and to the ability of his leadership.
