Alvis "Special" 1961 - In 2008 this intriguing and potent special was fitted with an overhauled 1969 5.7 litre V8 Chevrolet Small Block 350 (the work including fitment of a new stage 2 camshaft, pistons, valves, bearings etc. coupled to a "virtually new" Muncie 4-speed gearbox, new Holley carburettor, distributor, alternator and starter motor) with competition use in mind. Due to a change of plans the car has seen very little use and only on public roads. Built around a sound TD21 Series 2 chassis, the body is of aluminium whilst the car features disc brakes, front and rear anti-roll bars, PAS, 20 gallon stainless fuel tank, high efficiency aluminium radiator, Centreforce dual clutch and flywheel, Smiths instruments by Caerbont, twin Patriot side exhausts and 15? x 7? Jaguar D-Type style alloys fitted with Kumho Solus KH15 V rated (150mph) tyres.The car is equipped to UK Motor Sport Association requirements for Sprint and Speed Hill Climb competition. Offered with Swansea V5, hood and sidescreens, it is tax exempt and MOT till April 2017
