Fiat Barchetta 1977 NO RESERVE This 1997 Fiat Barchetta is looking for some TLC by its next owner and is being offered for sale as a running driving project. These is no MOT on the car and as such cannot be legally driven on public roads. Having said that a member of staff has driven the car on a private road and says Ignore the poor paint on the car plus its bumps and scuffs as once in the car you cant see them. The interior is actually in good condition with no real wear evident anywhere. That sweet 1800cc Twin Cam engine up front started easily no smoke and no sign of overheating during the 15 minutes or so of being driven. The engine loves to be revved and although not used under load the high gears (room constraints) along with the rest are all there. Brakes work well. Electrics all seem to work but the electric windows are intermittent and although definitely working they work when they want. There are no unwanted dash warning lights on when running. All in all it drives pretty well! The body work on the car has suffered there is lacquer peel on all of the rear and mid to rear top surfaces although the front panels and bonnet do polish well. Plus a small dent on the r/h rear corner that has also cracked the bumper cover. The roof is there but it is finished the back window has basically gone and there are a couple of tears where it folds not expensive to replace though. Wheels and tyres need little more than the silver on the wheels being refreshed. A great project for someone as the basics are very good and prices of these rare left hand drive only Barchettas are now such that you could spend only a small amount to tidy it up and have a good car for very little money and one that is going up in value steadily. Comes with its original owners wallet with various books etc in it.
