Vespa 150 Sprint Veloce 1974 - This very nice 1974 Vespa 150 Sprint Veloce VLB1T model was purchased by the vendor soon after it had been restored as a surprise for his wife, she could then accompany him on her own bike rather than on the back of his GL1800 Honda Goldwing. Well gents we know how that can work out sometimes!! She really did not like the idea, or the Scoot and it has spent its time ever since, sat unused in a garage. At this point we have to bring your attention to the fact that on the V5 it shows as a 125cc but it is a 150cc model. You would need to correct this when in your possession to make it correct. As previously mentioned, it really has not been used since its restoration and still shows 5 kms on the odometer, the vendor has bought a MPH clock for it and this will form part off the sale. Once imported from sunnier climes the restorer set about just about every part of the bike, replacing where needed and restoring elsewhere. The tyres on it are still as good as new as is the very nice shade of coral paintwork (just a minor mark on the l/h side of the front mudguard from storage that might polish out). The all-important chassis supports running across under the foot wells are excellent with no corrosion evident. The twin seats are perfect as is the matching spare wheel cover.Mechanically the engine starts easily and the gears select correctly, all the electrics work. The current MOT runs out in April prior to the auction but we see no reason why, past some gentle recommissioning, this scooter would struggle passing its next one. Correctly registered as Historic tax class on its V5 and on the right age related price. A sought after scooter that came standard with the better 10 inch wheels. In great condition and perfect for a collector or a fan of these iconic machines.
